Sixth-Rounder Shears Signs

From the Mountaineers to the Mammoth – that’s the path taken by Jahmal Shears, Colorado’s sixth-round selection in the 2016 NLL Entry Draft. On Monday, the Mammoth announced that Shears has signed a two-year agreement.

The defenseman, who caught the attention of Colorado’s front office at the 2016 NLL Combine, has spent the last two seasons playing for Mimico in Ontario Junior “A” Lacrosse. He’s chipped in six goals and seven assists from the back-end.

Shears was the 55th overall pick in the Draft, and will compete for a roster spot at training camp. His contract is pending league approval.
