Recent Under Eleven - Two Team News
Spots available for players born in 2003 and 2004
The Mimico rep field program continues to grow and our U11 teams can accommodate 6-10 additional players at all skill levels. The U11 program is running 3 teams at this age group and if you were born in 2003 or 2004 and interested in trying field lacrosse. If you missed the field registration or were unable to make the tryouts due to other commitments but think your child would like to give field a try, there's still room.
A registration is being held at Mimico Arena Wednesday March 20 from 7-9 pm. Please make sure you bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, regardless of whether you have completed all of your box registrations.
The field program is a competitive rep program that runs from late March through late May. The teams practice weeknights at Centennial Stadium and play games on Saturdays in and the GTA in April and May leading up to the provincial championships on the May long weekend.

Due to unexpected construction delays, the Lakeshore Collegiate fields will not be available this weekend and possibly next weekend as well (March 24/25 and March 31/April 1). As such the tryouts for all age groups will be moved to St. Mike's this weekend and will be condensed into 1 hour sessions from the scheduled 2 hour sessions.
I understand that the last minute changes may present conflicts for some, but please do what you can to make the tryouts. Our field time prior to selecting the teams may be more condensed that planned due to the issues at LCI and it is important for the players to get as much time in front of the coaches as possible at the tryouts to allow the coaches to properly evaluate player's skills. 2012 Tryouts will take place on the weekends of March 24/25 and March 31/April 1. Tryout times and locations are posted below.
Please note that tryouts will be outdoors (rain or shine) and will be 1 hours in length, with the exception of the U9 age group. Please make sure that players are dressed appropriately for being outside for an extended period of time. Full equipment is required for the tryouts, including a mouth guard and players should bring water and extra clothes just in case of inclement weather.
Two seasons ago the Ontario Minor Field Lacrosse League (OMFLL) abandoned the traditional Tyke through Midget age labels used by the Box discipline and adopted the "Under" or "U" labels more commonly seen in national and international field programs. Althought the names changed, the age requirements did not.
The OMFLL uses a calendar year approach and a literal interpretation of "Under" when defining the age groups. As a result, a player must be "Under" an age through the calendar year in order to participate in that age group. For example a player is eligible for the Under 11 (U11) age group if he will be 10 or younger (does not turn 11) during the calendar year.
